Professor Hugues de Thé has been awarded the 2026 Shaw Prize
🏆 The prestigious 2026 Shaw Prize in Life Science and Medicine has been awarded to Professor Hugues de Thé, head of the Molecular Pathology team at the IRSL, director of the IHU Leukaemia Center, and holder of the Chair in Cellular and Molecular Oncology at the Collège de France, as well as to Professor Anne Dejean, Professor Emeritus at the Pasteur Institute, and Professor Zhu Chen, Professor at Ruijin Hospital, Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.
This prize recognises the discovery of the molecular and cellular basis of acute promyelocytic leukaemia, and the pioneering development of a synergistic targeted therapy that has transformed the treatment of this disease – once one of the deadliest forms of cancer – into one of the most curable.
